Another Short Summer

April rewarded us with balmy temps in the 60's and 70's all month, which was nice after the 11 month winter. Now that May rolled around, Mother Earth seems to have had a change of heart. Cold, with strong winds and rain. Not exactly good canoeing weather for sure. I did get out canoeing last Thursday, for 12 miles. I paddled at a reasonable pace (marathon pace) the whole way without stopping, and felt good at the end. I figure I could do 20+ miles with no problems, but since I strained my back the first time out this year, I am going to take it easy. I spent today padding the seat in my QCC 700x and same with the Kruger. Both are quite comfy now, and should be ready for the racing season.
